Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect in connection with three sexual assaults which occurred in the City of Markham in the span of a week.

All three incidents involved the same suspect riding a bicycle and occurred between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the area of Edward Jeffreys Avenue, between Markham Road and Roy Rainey Avenue.

On Monday, August 10, 2026, at approximately 6:40 p.m., the victim was walking near Edward Jeffreys Avenue and Mingay Avenue when an unknown suspect approached on a bicycle. As the suspect passed the victim on the sidewalk, he touched her for a sexual purpose and then fled the area.

On Friday, August 14, 2026, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the victim was walking near Edward Jeffreys Avenue and Roy Rainey Avenue when the suspect rode past her on a bicycle. A short time later, the suspect turned around and rode past the victim again, touching her for a sexual purpose.

On Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 7 p.m., the victim was in the area of Edward Jeffreys Avenue and Roy Rainey Avenue when the suspect approached on a bicycle and touched her for a sexual purpose before fleeing.

The suspect is described as male, South Asian, with a medium complexion and straight, medium-length black hair. He is approximately 18 years old and was riding a black bicycle that appeared small for him.
