Suspect for Identification Following Shooting in Markham

Investigators with the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect following a shooting in the City of Markham.

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, shortly after 11:30 a.m., police responded to a weapons call at a residence in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive East and Angus Glen Boulevard. Investigators determined that at approximately 6:20 a.m. a male suspect attended the rear of a residence and discharged a firearm toward the property before fleeing on an e-scooter through a nearby golf course. Evidence of gunfire and damage to a vehicle were located at the scene.

No physical injuries were reported. 

Investigators are appealing to anyone who recognizes the suspect, or who has information, dash camera footage, or residential surveillance video from the area during the early morning hours of August 15, 2026, to come forward.
