Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged three suspects following an extortion investigation in the City of Markham.

On June 13, 2026, police responded to a residence in the area of Prince William Drive and Swansea Road for a report of three suspicious males. Three masked suspects attended the residence and demanded to speak with the victim.

When officers arrived, they located the three suspects in front of the residence. The suspects were arrested and one suspect was found in possession of a replica firearm.

Through the investigation, it was determined the incident was connected to an ongoing extortion. Investigators believe that an individual was being targeted for a kidnapping.

  • Jerimyah BROWN-WATSON, 19, of the City of Toronto

Charges:

  • Conspiracy to Commit and Indictable Offence
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • A 17-year-old male of the City of Toronto
  • A 16-year-old male of the City of Toronto

The investigation is ongoing.
