Update – Man Wanted in Harassment Investigation Located

Thanks to assistance from the media and members of the public, a 31-year-old man wanted in an ongoing criminal harassment investigation has been located.

On June 25, 2026, Baraa BADAWI, 31, of no fixed address, was released from the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Newmarket on a release order.

During July and August 2026, investigators learned that he had breached the conditions set out in his release order. 

Investigators were unable to locate him and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On the evening of October 15, 2026, BADAWI was located in the Town of Georgina and taken into custody. 

He is charged with:

  • Failure to Comply with Release Order x5 
  • Disobey Court Order x5
