Youth Charged in Series of Commercial Break and Enters
Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (4CIB) have charged a 16-year-old following an investigation into a series of commercial break and enters across York Region and the Greater Toronto Area.
In March 2026, 4CIB, in partnership with Peel Regional Police, began an investigation into a series of break and enters that occurred across the City of Vaughan. The lone suspect forced entry into businesses overnight, targeting safes and cash.
Through the investigation, officers identified the suspect.
On June 11, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the City of Mississauga. The suspect was arrested and officers located a replica firearm believed to have been used during the break-ins and recovered a stolen vehicle.

At the time of the offences, the accused was bound by a release order.
The investigation is ongoing.
