Cold case victim Francesco Loiero

The circumstances that led Francesco Loiero to a parking lot in Vaughan remain unknown. On the evening of Sunday, January 7, 1996, he was at a commercial plaza at the intersection of Martin Grove Road and Steeles Avenue West when his life was tragically cut short.

At approximately 8 p.m., Loiero was sitting inside his green Dodge Caravan in the lot at 7766 Martin Grove Road when he was shot. Despite any efforts that may have followed, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene, leaving behind unanswered questions about what brought him there and why he was targeted.

Loiero, affectionately known as Frank to his friends and family, was a devoted father of three and a well-known member of his community.

He owned and operated Rustic Bakery, a local business on Rustic Road in Toronto, near Keele Street and Highway 401, where he had built strong relationships with customers and neighbours alike.

His death not only marked a devastating loss for his loved ones, but also deeply affected the community he served, where he was remembered for his hard work, generosity, and friendly presence.
