Neighbourhood Watch is a community-based crime prevention program where neighbours work together to help keep each other safe.
York Regional Police can help you start a Neighbourhood Watch program in your area. Learn about the process to start and maintain a Neighbourhood Watch group:
Contact your local crime prevention officer
Get guidance and start the process.
Attend a community meeting to measure interest
See if neighbours are ready to participate.
Establish a coordinator and block captains
The crime prevention officer will assist you in assigning local leads to keep things organized.
Support ongoing meetings and local safety initiatives
Stay engaged with neighbours and York Regional Policeand keep the program active.
