#2 District Superintendent Kolin Alexander stands outside of headquarters

Superintendent Kolin Alexander brings 27 years of dedicated policing service to York Regional Police, with a career built on leadership, community engagement, and a strong commitment to public safety.

Over nearly three decades, Superintendent Alexander has served in a wide range of roles that have shaped his well-rounded approach to policing. His experience includes frontline patrol, the Road Safety Bureau, Criminal Investigations Bureau, Community Services, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, the Hate Crime Unit, and Community Safety. Each of these assignments has contributed to his deep understanding of both the operational and human aspects of policing.

Currently serving as a District Commander in Richmond Hill, Superintendent Alexander finds his role both meaningful and rewarding. He values the opportunity to make a positive impact in people’s lives—whether supporting community members through difficult moments or sharing in their successes during better times.

Equally important to him is the privilege of leading and supporting the dedicated officers and staff who serve on the front lines every day.
