Meet #3 District Commander Edmond Villamere
Superintendent Edmond Villamere brings 27 years of policing experience to York Regional Police, with a career defined by versatility, leadership and a strong focus on community connection.
Over the years, Superintendent Villamere has served across multiple districts, including #1, #2, #3, and #4 Districts, gaining valuable insight into the diverse needs of the communities within York Region. His specialized experience also includes roles in Road Safety, Strategic Services, Professional Development, Corporate Development and Professional Leadership and Inclusion (PLIO).
In addition, he completed a secondment with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, further broadening his perspective on policing and public safety at the provincial level.
As the commander of 3 District, Superintendent Villamere values the unique character of the community he serves.
“#3 District is a hidden gem,” Superintendent Villamere said. “Georgina still has a small-town feel about it which allows us to be more community-focussed.”
Superintendent Villamere said this allows officers to build meaningful connections with the people they serve.
With closer day-to-day interaction, Superintendent Villamere is also able to actively support the growth and development of his members, getting to know them personally while helping them reach their full potential.
