Meet #5 District Commander Chirag Bhatt

With 20 years of dedicated service at York Regional Police, Superintendent Chirag Bhatt brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and community focus to his role.

Throughout his career, Superintendent Bhatt has held several key positions, including serving as Inspector of Professional Liaison and Investigations Operations (PLIO), Technical Enforcement Bureau (TEB), and Road Safety. Prior to that, he worked as a Detective Sergeant in Major Collision Investigation and within the 5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (5CIB). He also served as a Detective in the Internet Child Exploitation Unit and the 4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (4CIB), gaining extensive investigative experience across a range of complex cases.

As a District Commander, Superintendent Bhatt finds the most fulfillment in building strong connections—both within the organization and throughout the community. He values the opportunity to support members of the service while working collaboratively with residents and local businesses.
