YRP Helps Build Program for Survivors of Intimate Partner Violence
York Regional Police has partnered with the York Region Centre for Community Safety and York University’s Schulich ExecEd to support survivors of intimate partner violence.
With guidance from York Regional Police, a four-part program titled the Women’s Leadership and Empowerment Series has been developed.
The program aims to help survivors regain confidence, develop leadership skills and achieve personal and professional growth.
Focused on equipping participants with practical tools and skills, the program is designed to empower survivors and support their recovery after trauma.
“York Regional Police is proud to work alongside our valued community partners to address the very real and pervasive issue of intimate partner violence,” Chief Jim MacSween said. “We will always do what we can to support survivors of abuse.”
