York Regional Police Officer Faces Criminal Charges

As a result of an investigation by the York Regional Police Professional Standards Bureau (PSB), a York Regional Police officer is facing criminal charges. 

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Constable Kivijan KETHEESWARAN was arrested and charged with:

  • Unauthorized Use of Computer 

  • Breach of Trust by Public Officer

Constable KETHEESWARAN commenced his employment with YRP in October 2024. 

After joining YRP, Constable KETHEESWARAN worked as a uniform officer in 4 District.

He has been under paid suspension since April 11, 2025, as the result of an ongoing PSB investigation.

Constable KETHEESWARAN has been released from custody with conditions. His first court appearance date is September 8, 2026, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket.
