Investigators with the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team are seeking witnesses after a man was shot at a club in the City of Vaughan.

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at approximately 2:20 a.m., police responded to reports of gunfire at a nightclub in the area of Steeles Avenue and Scholes Road. On scene, officers learned an altercation took place inside the club, resulting in a female suspect being removed by security. Two additional male suspects then confronted security and a firearm was brandished.

One of the suspects discharged a firearm and struck the victim, who was an adult male. The suspects fled the scene on foot, firing additional rounds toward the club.

Fortunately, no other patrons were struck or sustained any physical injuries.

The victim was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying three suspects.

Suspect #1: Male, Black, 5’2” to 5’7” tall, approximately 20-years-old with dreadlocks or braids. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, a baseball cap with a white letter “B,” and carrying a black satchel.

Suspect #2: Male, Black, 5’4” to 5’9” tall, approximately 20 years old with a small afro. He was last seen wearing a black jersey-style shirt.

Suspect #3: Female, Black with long hair. She was last seen wearing a white dress with fishnet straps.

York Regional Police would like to thank the Toronto Police Service for their assistance with attending the scene shortly after the shooting occurred and providing first-aid to the victim.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken with police to come forward. Officers are also seeking any surveillance video or dashcam footage from the area captured around the time of the shooting.
