Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unit have charged a 61-year-old Markham psychologist following the sexual assault of a youth. 

On June 29, 2026, the victim attended an appointment with a psychologist at a clinic in the area of John Street and Bayview Avenue in the City of Markham. 

During the appointment, the victim was given a massage and touched inappropriately. 

The victim was not physically injured. 

On July 4, 2026, following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Markham, Farrokh SEDIGH-DEILAMI, 61, of Markham, was charged with:

  • Sexual Assault 
  • Sexual Interference

Investigators are releasing his image as they believe there may be additional victims.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
