Suspect for Identification in Jewelry Theft

Investigators with the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect in a jewelry theft in the Town of Newmarket. 

On June 1, 2026, a suspect entered a jewelry store in the area of Yonge Street and Davis Drive and asked to try on a gold chain. After putting the chain on, the suspect fled the store on foot and was last seen on Davis Drive. 

The suspect is described as male, white, 5’9” tall, with a medium build, short brown hair and a brown goatee. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering, black pants, a black-and-white baseball cap and black-and-white shoes.
