Appeal for Additional Victims in Human Trafficking Investigation
Investigators with the York Regional Police Counter Exploitation Unit (CEU) have charged a suspect in connection with an ongoing human trafficking investigation in the City of Vaughan.
In July 2026, officers were conducting a proactive human trafficking investigation at a hotel in the area of Applewood Crescent and Portage Parkway when they identified a victim believed to be a child in need of protection.
Through the investigation, police learned that the victim, who was under the age of 18, was being trafficked for sexual services.
The suspect had taken photographs of the victim and used them in online advertisements promoting sexual services. The suspect controlled the advertisements, arranged appointments with clients on the victim’s behalf, received proceeds from the exploitation, and transported the victim to locations in multiple jurisdictions.
On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, the suspect was taken into custody.
Investigators are releasing the suspect’s photo because they believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
