Charges Laid in May Shooting in Vaughan
Charges have been laid by the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team (FIT) in connection with a shooting at a business in the City of Vaughan, which occurred in May.
On Friday, May 8, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Winges Road and Rowntree Dairy Road. When officers arrived, they located several bullet holes in two businesses in the area.
One of the businesses was occupied at the time of the shooting, however, no injuries were reported.
As the investigation progressed, a suspect was identified in connection with the shooting.
On July 9, 2026, FIT executed search warrants at one residence in the City of Markham and two residences in the City of Toronto. The suspect was taken into custody and officers seized a loaded firearm.
