Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a single-vehicle collision in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 12:30 a.m., police responded to a collision in the area of Bloomington Road and Kennedy Road. A Mercedes sport utility vehicle had left the roadway, and its two occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

The male driver was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The female passenger was transported to hospital with critical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward.
