Registered Nurse Preceptor Charged in Sexual Assault Investigation

Investigators with the York Regional Police #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a registered nurse preceptor in connection with the sexual assault of a nursing student in the City of Markham.

In July, 2026 the victim contacted police to report that they had been sexually assaulted by their nursing instructor. The incident occurred after the victim and the suspect attended home visits related to home care nurse training. After the visits, the suspect drove the victim to a secluded location, where he touched her for a sexual purpose.

Armin AZIZI-MEHR, 58, of the City of Markham, has been charged with Sexual Assault.

The accused works as a home care nurse and is a nurse preceptor. Investigators are releasing his image as they believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
 

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
