Witnesses Sought After Pedestrian Fatally Struck Newmarket
Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigations Unit are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was fatally struck in the Town of Newmarket.
On Monday, August 24, 2026, at approximately 7:20 p.m., police responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Davis Drive and Parkside Drive.
A 64-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward.
