Practitioner Charged in Sexual Assault Investigation
Investigators with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged a practitioner following a sexual assault investigation in the City of Richmond Hill.
On Sunday, August 30, 2026, the victim, attended an acupuncture massage appointment at a location in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive East and Bayview Avenue. During the appointment, the victim was sexually assaulted.
The following day, Jianji LI, 61, of Richmond Hill, was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault.
Investigators are releasing his photo as they believe there may be additional victims.
A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature, while sexual interference includes the touching of a person under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose.
York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
