Four Charged, One Outstanding Following Armed Home Invasion in Richmond Hill

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged three men and one woman, and are seeking a fifth suspect, following an armed home invasion in the City of Richmond Hill. 

On September 7, 2026, shortly after 7 a.m., officers responded to a weapons call at a residence in the area of May Avenue and Yonge Street. Multiple suspects, armed with at least one firearm, forced their way into the residence, confronted the victim and assaulted him. 

During the assault, the firearm was discharged. The victim was not struck by the gunfire.

All suspects fled before police arrived. 

Officers located the victim outside of the residence suffering from serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a trauma centre. 

A black Cadillac Escalade was identified as a suspect vehicle in relation to the home invasion. With assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police Northumberland Detachment, the vehicle was stopped on Highway 401 in the Town of Cobourg and seized as offence-related property. The female driver, who was the vehicle’s sole occupant, was taken into custody. 

Investigators were quickly able to identify an additional three suspects who were taken into custody. A search warrant was executed at a residence in the City of Toronto where a quantity of ammunition, a controlled substance and Canadian currency were seized.

A fifth suspect remains outstanding. He is described as male, Black, wearing a grey hoody, black pants and white shoes.

At the time of their arrests, FILS-AIME was on probation and a weapons prohibition order, while SAINT-ELIEN was wanted by the Service de police da la Ville de Montreal for unrelated offences.

The investigation is ongoing.
