Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victims Unithave charged a 63-year-old math tutor in connection with a sexual assault of a minor.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the victim, who is under 16-year-old, came forward to report their math tutor had touched them for a sexual purpose during their math lessons on multiple occasions between September 2022 and October, 2025.
On Thursday, November 13, 2024, the suspect was arrested and charged.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are releasing the suspect’s photo in hopes that others who may have been affected come forward.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
