Update - Four Additional Suspects Charged in Markham Robbery Investigation

Investigators with York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit have charged four additional suspects in connection with a robbery which occurred in the City of Markham.

On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at approximately 8:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery in the area of 14th Avenue and Birchmount Road. The victim was walking to his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects who demanded his satchel. A struggle ensued, the victim was assaulted and his satchel was stolen. The suspects fled in a silver sport utility vehicle.

On March 26, 2026, one suspect was arrested and charged in connection with the robbery.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Wednesday May 13, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto, where one suspect was arrested and charged.

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, investigators executed three additional search warrants at three residences in Toronto. Three more suspects were arrested and charged.
