Update – One Suspect Arrested in Vaughan Homicide

Investigators with the York Regional Police Homicide Unit would like to thank the media, the public and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) for their assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide in the City of Vaughan.

On Monday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 1 p.m., officers were called to a commercial plaza in the area of Winges Road and Rowntree Dairy roads after receiving reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, a male was located in front of a business with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

On March 5, 2026, as a result of the ongoing collaborative investigation, members of the OPP James Bay Detachment located and arrested Jacob WALLACE in the Town of Moosonee.

Charged:

  • Jacob WALLACE, 19, of Mississauga

Charges:

  • First-Degree Murder
  • Arson Causing Damage to Property

A Canada-Wide warrant remain for 19-year-old Isaiah Thomas BADGER, of the City of Edmonton, Alberta.

BADGER is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, citizens are urged not to approach, but to call police immediately.

Wanted:

  • Isaiah Thomas BADGER, 19, of Edmonton

Charges:

  • First-Degree Murder
  • Arson Causing Damage to Property


The accused is encouraged to seek legal advice and turn himself in.
