Georgina Care Giver Charged with Sexual Assault

Posted on Thursday June 26, 2025

Investigators with the Special Victims Unit have laid charges against a Care Support Assistant (CSA) in connection with a sexual assault at a long-term care home in the Town of Georgina.

On Thursday, June 19, 2025, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a female resident at the facility. Due to her medical condition, the victim was unable to provide a statement. Through investigation, a staff member was identified as the suspect.

Investigators have charged 57-year-old Jefferson DAYE of Georgina with Sexual Assault. He had been employed at the home for approximately one year and had regular access to residents.

Police have also learned that the accused may be affiliated with various church communities in the Georgina and East Gwillimbury areas, where he may have presented himself as a Pastor. Given his access to vulnerable individuals in both caregiving and religious roles, investigators are concerned that there may be other victims who have not yet come forward.

As part of this ongoing investigation, police are releasing an image of the accused.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. York Regional Police would like to encourage anyone who feels they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to come forward and report the incident to police. There is no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
