Investigators with the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team are appealing for public assistance following a shooting at a residence in the City of Vaughan two days after an attempted vehicle arson at the same residence.
On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, just before 9:30 a.m., police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Kleinburg Summit Way and First Nations Trail. When officers arrived, they observed shell casings in the driveway of a residence. A black sport utility vehicle (SUV) was observed fleeing the area shortly after the shots were fired.
This incident follows an attempted vehicle arson at the same residence on Monday, March 23, 2026 at approximately 2:50 a.m.. During that incident, a dark-coloured sedan was observed stopping on the street in front of the house. Two suspects exited their vehicle, approached and poured gasoline on a vehicle parked in the driveway. The attempted to ignite the vehicle was unsuccessful.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
Suspect #1: Male, black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black shoes.
Suspect #2: Male, light complexion, red bandana, black hooded sweater, white t-shirt, black sweatpants, black and grey shoes.
Investigators are working to determine whether the two incidents are connected and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Police are particularly interested in obtaining video surveillance or dash-camera footage from the area that may have captured the roadways around the time of the incident.
