Charges Laid in Ongoing Human Trafficking Investigation
Investigators with the York Regional Police Counter Exploitation Unit (CEU), in partnership with the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal Sexual Exploitation Section, have charged a suspect and are appealing for victims across Canada in connection with an ongoing human trafficking investigation.
In May 2026, the CEU was conducting a proactive enforcement investigation targeting the advertising of sexual services in York Region. Through that investigation, officers identified a victim at a hotel in the area of Highway 7 and Leslie Street in the City of Markham. The victim reported to police that they had been lured to Ontario from British Columbia under false pretences and were trafficked and exploited in the sex trade.
As the investigation progressed, officers identified additional victims and linked the suspect to an ongoing human trafficking investigation in Montréal. Investigators believe there are additional victims in Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec and elsewhere in Canada.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
The suspect is alleged to have presented himself online as a motivational speaker and fitness instructor who primarily works with women, using the usernames “Coach Dreamz” and “Dreamz.bigg.” He was also believed to frequent various gyms across Canada.
Investigators are releasing an image of the suspect as they believe there are additional victims and are encouraging them to come forward.
