Suspect Sought After Commercial Robbery in Richmond Hill
Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in connection with a commercial robbery in Richmond Hill.
On Friday, June 26, 2026, at approximately 3:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a commercial robbery in the area of Carrville Road and Avenue Road. A lone male suspect entered the store, approached the counter and used a note to threaten the victim while demanding cash. The suspect then threatened the victim with a box cutter.
The suspect fled the area on foot when the victim threatened to contact police.
No physical injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, in his mid-to-late 20s, approximately 160 cm tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, dark pants, distinctive red and white Converse shoes and a black mask, and was carrying a box cutter.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
