Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged one suspect and are seeking a second suspect in connection with a series of break-and-enters at condominiums.

York Regional Police previously issued a public warning as part of this investigation, alerting residents to suspects who were surreptitiously gaining access to condominium and apartment buildings. Investigators learned the suspects applied a glue-like substance to unit doors throughout the buildings, then returned later to check whether the glue had been disturbed in order to determine if the units were occupied before committing the break-and-enters.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, one suspect was identified. On July 2, 2026, investigators executed search warrants at a residence and a vehicle in the City of Vaughan.

Malkhazi KHUTSISHVILI, 39, of the City of Vaughan has been charged with nine counts of Break and Enter with Intent, six counts of Fail to Comply with Judicial Release Order, Possession of Break in Instruments and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

At the time of the offences, KHUTSISHVILI was bound by a Judicial Release Order that required him to remain in his residence between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing and a second suspect remains outstanding.
