Witnesses Sought in Serious Motor Vehicle Collision in Markham
Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigations Unit are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle collision in the City of Markham.
On Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 10:54 a.m., police responded to a collision in the area of Woodbine Avenue and Steelcase Road.
A black Honda Civic, traveling northbound on Woodbine Avenue, collided into a black Chevrolet pick-up truck that was also traveling northbound.
The driver of the Civic, an adult female, was transported to hospital with minor injuries. An adult female passenger in the same vehicle was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and was not physically injured.
The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, and to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward.
