What is a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check?
A Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) is one of the three standard police record checks used in Ontario. It is intended for applicants seeking employment or volunteer positions with agencies or companies that require a criminal records check, along with a search of outstanding entries and charges.
This check is not intended for positions involving children or other vulnerable persons.
Who is this check for?
A Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check is intended for individuals seeking employment or volunteer positions where an organization requires more information than a Criminal Record Check, but a Vulnerable Sector Check is not required.
Examples may include board members, administrative staff, contractors or individuals working in environments such as schools, hospitals or care facilities, where they are not in a position of trust or authority over vulnerable persons.
