Project 8 Mile Nets Drugs and Weapons

Investigators with the York Regional Police #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have laid numerous charges following the seizure of a large quantity of controlled substances and weapons.

The investigation began in the fall of 2025, when it was reported that two men were involved in the trafficking of controlled substances in York Region and surrounding areas. Through investigation, other suspects were identified who were believed to be trafficking controlled substances within the Town of Georgina and surrounding jurisdictions.

On February 25 and 26, 2026, search warrants were executed at residences in the Town of Georgina and Cities of Toronto and Vaughan.

Investigators with the #3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau, assisted by the York Regional Police Emergency Response and Canine Units, as well as support from #1, #4 and #5 Districts, arrested six suspects.

As a result, one firearm, a crossbow, brass knuckles and various ammunition were seized. Also seized was just over $58,000 in cash and drugs including cocaine, hydromorph-contin, methamphetamine, oxycocet and MDMA with an approximate street value of $325,000.
