The York Regional Police Financial Crimes Unit (FCU), in partnership with The Regional Municipality of York, have laid multiple charges against 15 suspects, in connection with a lengthy fraud investigation dubbed Project Great One.

Investigators with the York Regional Police Firearms Investigations Team are appealing for the public’s assistance following a shooting at a residence in the Town of Georgina.
On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, just before 4:20 a.m., police responded to a report of the sound of gunshots on Clarlyn Drive, in the area of Clarlyn Drive and Lake Drive. When officers arrived, they found a house and vehicle which had been damaged as a result of gunfire.

A man has been convicted and sentenced to nine years in custody by the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket, following a police-involved shooting which occurred in July 2025.
