Officers from York Regional Police #4 District have charged a 29-year-old man with 32 criminal and provincial charges after he attempted to evade police in the City of Vaughan.
On Saturday, November 29, 2025, at approximately 2:40 a.m., officers observed a Dodge Caravan driving erratically near the York Regional Police #4 District Headquarters at 2700 Rutherford Road. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled. Air2 was in the area and took over observations as the vehicle travelled at high speeds without headlights, drove through red lights, weaved through traffic and travelled the wrong way on Major Mackenzie Drive West.
During observation, the suspect stopped and attempted to steal a vehicle from a residential driveway near Dufferin Street and Teston Road. After failing to get inside, he returned to the Caravan and continued driving dangerously. The vehicle stopped again, in the area of Bathurst Street and Autumn Hill Boulevard, where officers attempted to contain it, but the driver broke containment and fled once more.
Officers then deployed a tire deflation device, successfully disabling two tires. The suspect drove into an underground parking garage at an apartment building on Antibes Drive in the City of Toronto, where he attempted to flee on foot but was quickly arrested.
See attached Charge List.
Further investigation linked the suspect to two commercial break and enters that occurred on November 15 in the City of Richmond Hill and on November 21 in Toronto. Investigators also confirmed the Dodge Caravan had been reported stolen in Toronto on November 27. The suspect’s driver’s licence had been suspended since 2023.
