Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit (HUU) have charged six youths as the result of a failed jewelry store robbery in the City of Toronto.

On Friday, March 14, 2025, investigators with York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) conducted an investigation into a stolen Acura TLX sedan that was located in the City of Vaughan.

Six suspects were identified as being associated to the stolen vehicle.  Investigators with HUU and 4CIB maintained observations of the vehicle which travelled to the area of Billy Bishop Way and Wilson Avenue where five suspects exited carrying sledgehammers and bags. The suspects approached a jewelry store and attempted to force entry, however they failed to gain access.

With the assistance of the Emergency Response, Canine and Air Support units, the suspect vehicle was contained and after a brief foot pursuit, six youths were taken into custody.  One suspect remains outstanding.
