“I am proud of the teamwork, professionalism and tireless efforts of all involved in Project Wrangler. The success of this joint-forces operation is a testament to the strength of the partnerships we share not only locally, but across the province and the country,” York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween said.
“We know these perpetrators know no borders, so police must take the same approach. By working collaboratively, we were able to dismantle a dangerous criminal group and take violent offenders off the streets.”
From our partners:
"This Joint Forces Operation has struck a major blow against a highly organized criminal network that was fueling fear and violence, and is a powerful example of collaboration between police services. These individuals and their criminal actions have no place in Peel or our neighbouring communities. Together, we’re building safer communities — today and for the future."
- Chief Nishan Duraiappah, Peel Regional Police
“The fact that violence reached hospital grounds highlights why this operation mattered. Our collective response sends a clear message: Violence in places of care and across our communities will meet a coordinated police response. London Police Service is proud to stand with York Regional Police and our policing partners to safeguard families, patients, frontline workers, and our community.”
- Chief Thai Truong, London Police Service
“Community safety is at the heart of everything we do, and Project Wrangler is a strong example of what can be achieved through coordinated policing. In Toronto, the offences connected to this investigation include armed robberies, a home invasion, and a shooting – violent crimes that create real fear for residents. While major crime indicators are down this year, we know incidents like these have a significant impact on how safe people across our city feel. Taking these dangerous individuals off our streets is an important step in holding violent offenders accountable and protecting our communities.”
- Chief Superintendent Joe Matthews, Detective Operations, Toronto Police Service
“This investigation shows the far-reaching impact of organized crime networks on communities across Ontario and underscores the importance of collaboration and the ability to share intelligence and resources across jurisdictions. The incredible work by the involved policing partners demonstrates our shared commitment to public safety. The OPP is proud of the continued efforts by investigators to hold offenders accountable and protect communities.”
- Chief Superintendent Karen Gonneau, Investigation and Support Bureau, Ontario Provincial Police
