Update - Dropbox for Items in Residential Break-and-Enter Series

Posted on Wednesday February 11, 2026

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are releasing images of recovered stolen property as a result of an investigation into a series of residential break and enters across York Region.

The investigation began in October 2025 after officers responded to a break and enter in the City of Vaughan. Four suspects, operating a white Toyota RAV4 sport utility vehicle, were identified.

As the investigation continued, the same vehicle and suspects were identified in numerous other residential break-and-enters across the cities of Markham, Vaughan and Richmond Hill.

On Friday, January 23, 2026, police arrested four individuals.

Numerous items have been recovered. A Dropbox folder has been set up with photos of the items that have not yet been returned to their owners. We are asking anyone who was a victim of a residential break and enter between October 2025 to January 2026 to please review the photos and contact police if any of the items belong to you.

There will be a process to verify ownership before collecting any property.

Images of the stolen property can be found HERE.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators anticipate laying additional charges. Anyone with information is asked to call the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7545, or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or leave an anonymous tip online at www.1800222tips.com.

York Regional Police is reminding the public to always maintain the appearance that their residences are occupied. Follow these six steps to protect your home from a break and enter.
