Investigations with the #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged two suspects and are seeking an additional suspect in connection with a theft which occurred during a private gold exchange in the City of Markham.

On February 22, 2026, the victim met with two suspects to sell gold bars, valued at approximately $65,000. During the transaction the suspects stole the gold and fled in a Land Rover. While making their escape, the suspects struck another vehicle.

Through the investigation, officers identified the primary suspect. On March 11, 2026, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Oakville, where officers recovered a forgery station and forged documents including passports, business cheques, Ontario driver’s licences, counterfeit cash, and counterfeit credit cards. Officers also located high-end designer handbags, jewelry and watches with an estimated value of more than $180,000.

As a result, two suspects were charged.

As a list of charges can be seen below.

Investigators are still seeking a third unidentified suspect. He is described as male, Asian, thin build, 5’5”, with purple hair. He was last seen wearing an oversized blue and white sweater and white shoes with bright laces.
